Airborne

My father flew Horsa gliders, at the age of 18, seeing action at D-day and Arnhem where he was captured. I have made a number works commemorating these events.

This image shows Horsas landing. The diminishing and fading aircraft are intended to indicate the passing of time and evoke ideas about the changing interpretation and mythology of conflict.

This drawing was short-listed for the Jerwood Prize, London in 2014. The exhibition toured the UK the following year..
